Welcome to ACAP, the Academy of Clinical and Applied Psychoanalysis. Since 1982, ACAP has offered graduate and post graduate training in behavioral health.
ACAP has incorporated distance learning into our programs to meet the changing needs of our students.
ACAP offers a clinical training program leading to a Certificate in modern psychoanalysis. Additionally, we offer certificate programs in Trauma and Lifespan Studies in our Continuing Education department.
ACAP is renowned for its unique commitment to Applied Psychoanalysis, community engagement: the application of decades of experience in working with challenging people and situations to venues outside the clinical setting. A driving force in ACAP’s programming is our resolve to make our communities better, healthier places where people can live and thrive.
The North Jersey Consultation Center, NJCC, provides the community with mental health treatment for short or long-term therapy at affordable fees.
ACAP is now offering a One-Year Program in Modern Psychoanalytic Studies. Our One Year Program provides an opportunity for clinical practitioners and professionals in various disciplines to enhance their clinical skills by introducing them to innovative, Modern Psychoanalytic principles, theories, and techniques.
Whether you're a mom stuggling to balance home and work, a teacher challenged by difficult students, or a construction worker curious about a new career path, there's a workshop for you at ACAP.

Announcing ACAP's new Certification and Continuing Education programs in Trauma and Resilience Studies!!! Trauma and Resilience Studies Information Session Wednesday, January 18 from 6:40 - 7:40 | ACAP will host an Information Open House. Join the discussion, learn what Psychoanalytic Studies and our innovative Trauma and Resilience Studies programs can do for you.Beginning January 26, 2012: Trauma and the Resilient Mind: Contemporary Theories A new ACAP course open to anyone interested in learning more about working with vulnerable populations, how some people cope with overwhelming experiences and others are less resilient. Learn about the many types of traumatic stress responses, how to identify them, new skills for helping people cope, and what the latest thinking is about our resilient mind and how it adapts. There are some scholarship funds available for newcomers to this program who work with vulnerable populations, so please ask when you call for information.
