This two-part course will support social workers and other licensed/certified mental health practitioners at intermediate and advanced levels in their work with people recovering from Addiction. Skills will be introduced which all therapists can apply to their clinical work with clients. Life without addictive behavior is a new life. Energy is used to build the self. Focus is used to accept the unacceptable and find new activities, which are satisfying the old desires and needs. It is a life of finding constructive behavior to replace the old, self-destructive behavior. A life where there is growing through talking and attaching to people rather a substance or activity such as gambling or exercise.
