Nautilus Summer 2009Serving Those Who Serve Us ACAP Serves on the NJ Governor’s Task Force for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and launches the COMING HOME Program. 2,900 national guardsmen are expected to return from Iraq this summer. Many will be reuniting with their families. In response, the Academy of Clinical and Applied Psychoanalysis is serving as a community service representative on the New Jersey Governor’s Task Force for PTSD. The North Jersey Consultation Center (NJCC), the treatment service division of ACAP, has been providing psychotherapy for our neighbors in Essex, Hudson, Morris, Union and Passaic Counties for over 26 years and is available for Veterans and anyone in a relationship with a Veteran. Fees are set according to need and no one has ever been turned away for treatment. In addition, the ACAP will run a series of workshops just for the issues around military life with emphasis on marital reunification, parenting, and life transitions. ACAP’s staff of experienced therapists is prepared to respond to the needs of veterans, their parents, spouses and other family members or anyone significant in the life of a Veteran.
