SPRING 2012 CALENDAR OF EVENTS! |
Children in the Middle
- Presenter: Michelle Bernstein, MA, CPS
In the lives of children, the divorce of their parents can be one of the most traumatic events encountered. Children living in homes with only one parent, or where marital relationships have been disrupted by divorce or separation, are more likely to display a range of emotional and behavioral problems. The Children in the Middle Program can help you lower your child's stress level during this difficult time, ease the long-term psychological burden of divorce, and help make the process more understandable and manageable for both you and your children. This presentation offers an opportunity to understand more about family disruption from a child's perspective, tools for interacting sensitively with the child in this stressful situation, and a chance to talk with other parents and mental health professionals about the difficult dilemma of Children in the Middle.
