This course will introduce the student to basic theoretical concepts and practices in child treatment. From mother and infant intervention to launching adolescents into adulthood, case studies will demonstrate the developmental patterns, treatment challenges and modifications in treatment. The student will learn about the historical roots of approaches to contemporary practices. Case examples from practice examine common symptom patterns and evidence of trauma or pathology within child and adolescent treatments.
